These are some collages I've been working on during the past few months. I'm not completely satisfied with them; hopefully, I'm going in a different direction with my work and these collages are part of the transition.

The Reunion

In Berlin, giant marionettes called the Little Giantess and the Big Giant who had been previously separated were reunited earlier this month in a grand production called The Reunion. The event was part of a larger celebration commemorating the fall of the Berlin Wall. The images are fascinating; more pictures and story can be found here.

Cool Globes

There's an exhibit at Discovery Green, my current favorite place in Houston, called Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet. The exhibit is intended to increase public awareness of climate change in a creative and artistic way. The globes are created by artists and each focuses on a particular issue of climate change; here are some of the ones I especially liked.

Quilt Festival 2009

I had the pleasure of visiting the 2009 International Quilt Festival last week. As usual, there were some amazing quilts--these quilters are gifted artists working with a not especially easy medium. Way too much to see in one visit, but here are some of my favorites.
